Abstract
Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) adalah sistem komunikasi yang penting dalam penyampaian informasi bandara kepada pilot, termasuk pembaruan cuaca dari sistem seperti AWOS. Berdasarkan pengamatan selama On-the-Job Training (OJT) di AirNav Yogyakarta, ditemukan bahwa ATIS terkadang gagal memperbarui data cuaca secara otomatis, yang mengharuskan intervensi manual dan berisiko menunda penyampaian informasi penting penerbangan. Penelitian ini merancang sistem redundansi data METAR pada ATIS menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development (RAD). Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan Visual Basic .NET dengan antarmuka Krypton Toolkit, serta mengintegrasikan database MySQL sebagai sumber utama dan API BMKG sebagai sumber cadangan. Sistem ini dilengkapi dengan pengecekan berkala, algoritma failover otomatis, parser METAR dan JSON, indikator visual tiga warna, notifikasi audio dan popup, serta fitur Text-to-Speech. Simulasi dilakukan untuk menguji skenario kegagalan secara aman. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, sistem terbukti dapat melakukan perpindahan sumber data dengan interval monitoring yang dapat dikonfigurasi mulai dari 10 detik dan kembali ke sumber utama secara otomatis ketika tersedia. Simulasi sistem redundansi ini telah berhasil memastikan kontinuitas pembaruan data METAR, yang berpotensi mengurangi keterlambatan dan kesalahan dalam penyampaian informasi cuaca.
The Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) is a critical communication system that provides airport information to pilots, including weather updates from systems such as AWOS. Based on observations during On-the-Job Training (OJT) at AirNav Yogyakarta, it was found that ATIS sometimes fails to update weather data automatically, requiring manual intervention, which risks delaying the delivery of essential flight information. This study designs a METAR data redundancy system for ATIS using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology. The system is developed using Visual Basic .NET with a Krypton Toolkit interface and integrates a MySQL database as the primary data source and the BMKG API as a backup. The system includes periodic checks, automatic failover algorithms, METAR and JSON parsers, three-color visual indicators, audio and popup notifications, and Text-to-Speech functionality. Simulations are performed to safely test failure scenarios. Based on the results of the tests, the system simulation has been proven to switch data sources with configurable monitoring intervals starting from 10 seconds and automatically revert to the primary source when available. This redundancy system has successfully ensured the continuity of METAR data updates, which helps reduce delays and errors in weather information delivery.
