Abstract

menurunkan performa pelatihan lanjutan, menghambat kesiapan menghadapi
stres taruna penerbang Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug.
terjaga.

The delay in completing the multi-engine phase is one of the critical issues in pilot
education, as it can increase cadets’ psychological pressure and trigger academic
stress. Unmanaged stress poses the risk of reducing performance in advanced
training, hindering readiness for final examinations, and affecting the overall
success of cadets’ studies. This study aims to analyze the effect of delays in the
multi-engine phase on the stress levels of pilot cadets at the Indonesian Aviation
Polytechnic of Curug. The research method employed a retrospective quantitative
approach, with data collected through the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), which
has been proven valid and reliable. Hypothesis testing using the t-test showed a tvalue of 6.200, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.110 (p < 0.001). Thus, it
can be concluded that delays in the multi-engine phase have a significant effect on
cadets’ stress levels. This finding is consistent with the Job Demand-Control model
(Karasek, 1979), which states that high demands combined with low control
increase the risk of stress. The results of this study are expected to serve as a basis
for the Pilot Study Program in formulating more effective learning strategies and
training management, thereby minimizing delays in the multi-engine phase and
maintaining the psychological well-being of cadets.
