Abstract
The Indonesian Aviation Polytechnic (PPI) Curug is one of the government schools under the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia that aims to produce professionals in the field of aviation, particularly pilots. One of the indicators of success in pilot training begins with the pre-solo flight phase. According to CASR 61.87, solo flight is defined as the flight time during which the student pilot is the only passenger on the aircraft. The aviation program has cadets each year who exhibit signs of difficulties in achieving flight performance. Data collected indicates a significant decline in performance across each cohort of aviation cadets. Learning motivation is one of the factors supporting the achievement of good performance both theoretically and practically. This study uses an explanatory quantitative method to determine the influence of variables X and Y. From the analysis conducted, the R Square value obtained was 0.162 or 16.2%, meaning that learning motivation contributes 16.2% to the variation in cadets' flight performance during the pre-solo phase.
