PENGARUH COMPREHENSION TERHADAP PENCEGAHAN MISKOMUNIKASI ANTARA PILOT DAN ATC: STUDI PERSEPSI TARUNA PENERBANG PPI CURUG

Miskomunikasi antara pilot dan ATC dapat berakibat fatal terhadap keselamatan penerbangan. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas komunikasi adalah comprehension pilot dalam memahami dan merespon fraseologi standar secara tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat comprehension taruna penerbang, tingkat kemampuan mereka dalam mencegah miskomunikasi, serta menganalisis pengaruh di antara keduanya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan instrumen kuesioner skala Likert. Responden berjumlah 40 taruna penerbang yang sedang melaksanakan fase terbang. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan masing-masing variabel dan melalui uji korelasi Pearson untuk melihat hubungan antar variabel. Hasil penelitian diharapkan mengetahui seberapa pentingnya comprehension yang baik karena dapat mencegah terjadinya miskomunikasi, memastikan pesan dimengerti dengan benar, dan mengurangi risiko misinterpretasi yang dapat berujung dengan masalah. Penulis memberi saran untuk pelatihan komunikasi penerbangan diperkuat fraseologi standar, meningkatkan akurasi read back, serta melakukan simulasi komunikasi rutin untuk meminimalkan risiko miskomunikasi dan menjaga keselamatan penerbangan.

Miscommunication between pilots and Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) can have fatal consequences for flight safety. One factor influencing communication quality is the pilot’s comprehension in accurately understanding and responding to standard phraseology. This study aims to determine the level of comprehension among student pilots, assess their ability to prevent communication errors, and analyze the relationship between the two. The research employed a quantitative method using a Likert scale questionnaire as the instrument. A total of 40 student pilots currently in the flying phase participated as respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively to illustrate each variable and through Pearson’s correlation test to examine the relationship between variables. The findings are expected to highlight the importance of good comprehension, as it can prevent communication errors, ensure messages are correctly understood, and reduce the risk of misinterpretation that could lead to operational issues. The author suggests that flight communication training should be reinforced with mastery of standard phraseology, improvement in read-back accuracy, and regular communication simulations to minimize the risk of miscommunication and maintain flight safety.
