Abstract

Check ride adalah tahapan evaluasi paling krusial dalam pendidikan taruna penerbang yang menuntut kinerja maksimal dalam aspek teknis maupun mental.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan beban kerja mental taruna pada saat check ride pada taruna D-IV Penerbang Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug. Workload diukur menggunakan instrumen Subjective Workload Assessment Technique (SWAT), yang terdiri dari tiga dimensi utama: time load, mental effort, dan psychological stress. Populasi penelitian ini terdiri dari taruna Angkatan VII dan VIII yang telah menyelesaikan PPL check ride. Data diperoleh dengan cara mengurutkan 27 kartu (T-E-S) dan penilaian beban pada empat kegiatan, lalu diproses sebagai Group Scaling Solution (GSS) dengan validitas penskalaan kelompok yang terkonfirmasi (Kendall's W = 0,7993; >0,75). Hasil rescaled menunjukkan dominasi stres psikologis (S = 40,30%), diikuti oleh beban waktu (T = 30,12%) dan usaha (E = 29,58%)Peringkat beban kerja mental per kegiatan dari yang tertinggi ke terendah adalah Solo Circuit Check Ride_, PPL Check Ride, Solo Cross Country Check Ride, dan Solo Area Check Ride. Temuan ini mengonfirmasi bahwa fase Solo Circuit adalah fase yang paling menuntut secara mental.

Check ride is the most crucial evaluation stage in the education of aviator cadets who demand maximum performance in technical and mental aspects. This study aims to map the mental workload of cadets during the check ride at the D-IV Aviator cadets of the Indonesian Aviation Polytechnic Curug workload measured using the Subjective Workload Assessment Technique (SWAT) instrument, which consists of three main dimensions: time load, mental effort, and psychological stress. The population of this study consisted of cadets of Class VII and VIII who had completed the PPL check ride. Data were obtained by sequencing 27 cards (T-E-S) and load ratings on four activities, then processed as a Group Scaling Solution (GSS) with confirmed group scaling validity (Kendall's W = 0.7993; >0.75). The rescaled results showed a predominance of psychological stress (S = 40.30%), followed by time burden (T = 30.12%) and effort (E = 29.58%).The ranking of mental workload per activity from highest to lowest was Solo Circuit Check Ride_, PPL Check Ride, Solo Cross Country Check Ride, and Solo Area Check Ride. These findings confirm that the Solo Circuit phase is the most mentally demanding phase of the ride
