Abstract

Internal Occurrence Report (IOR) is an important incident reporting system to prevents work accidents. This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of Internal Occurrence Report on the work safety of technicians in Hangar 3 PT. GMF Aeroasia Tbk. The method used is a quantitative method with an associative descriptive approach. The sample consisted of 38 respondents or 25% of the total population of active technicians in Hangar 3. The research instrument was tested through Validity Test and Reliability Test, followed by Classical Assumption Test, Simple Linear Regression and data were analyzed using SPSS Software version 26. Validity Test showed that all questionnaire items had r count > r table (0.320) hence declared valid and Reliability Test showed that both variables had high internal consistency, with Cronsbach'sii Alpha values of (0.869) variable X and (0.861) variable Y. The simple linear regression model produces an R Square value of (0.958) indicating that 95.8% of the variation in occupational safety can be explained by the implementation of IOR. The t-test results showed a calculated t value of (27.004) > t table (2.028) with a significance level of 0.05 and a significance value of (0.000 <0.05) indicating a significant influence. The regression equation obtained is Y = 3.182 + 0.951X, which means that every one unit increase in the implementation of IOR will increase the level of occupational safety by (0.951). The IOR application score was 88.31% (good category) and occupational safety was 90.31%. Qualitative results confirmed the effectiveness of IOR, with interviewees stating: “IOR effectively helps record abnormal conditions without waiting for an incident to occur” and “able to handle potential incidents early.” Observations support these findings, showing 2,638 IOR reports in 2024, although 250 “overdue” reports and 148 “open” reports indicate delayed follow-up. Occupational safety implementation is well-established, with consistent use of PPE and regular briefings, but daily monitoring needs to be improved due to non-compliance with SOPs during urgent work. Key challenges include delays in handling due to high report volumes, incomplete data in filling out reports, suboptimal coordination between units, and reporter hesitation due to fear of being blamed. Proposed solutions include the development of an IOR dashboard with automatic notifications, regular training for technicians, strengthening coordination between units through cross-divisional teams, and education to build a culture of fearless reporting. This research supports the optimization of the Safety Management System at PT. GMF AeroAsia, Tbk, with practical recommendations to improve IOR effectiveness and occupational safety.
