Abstract

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) merupakan alat keselamatan penting yang digunakan oleh personel PKP-PK dalam menjalankan operasi penyelamatan dan pemadaman kebakaran di bandar udara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses perawatan SCBA guna memastikan kelayakan alat dan keselamatan personel di Bandar Udara Internasional Kualanamu Deli Serdang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi lapangan sejak Oktober 2024 hingga February 2025. Instrumen
penelitian berupa panduan wawancara dan lembar observasi digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kelemahan dalam sistem perawatan SCBA.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses perawatan SCBA belum berjalan maksimal, ditandai dengan belum adanya checklist khusus dan standar inspeksi tiap komponen SCBA. Selain itu, penempatan kompresor isi ulang udara bersih yang
berada dekat dengan area parkir kendaraan berisiko menyebabkan kontaminasi udara ke dalam tabung SCBA. Jumlah SCBA yang tersedia pun masih belum memenuhi standar minimal sesuai regulasi PR 30 Tahun 2022. Solusi yang diusulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah pembuatan log book pemeriksaan yang terstandarisasi, pengadaan SCBA dengan tipe seragam, serta pembangunan ruang khusus untuk penempatan kompresor.

The Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) is a vital safety device used by Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) personnel during rescue and firefighting operations at the airport. This study aims to analyze the SCBA maintenance process to ensure equipment reliability and personnel safety at Kualanamu International Airport Deli Serdang.
This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques including direct observation, in-depth interviews, and field documentation conducted from October 2024 to July 2025. Research instruments such as interview guides and observation sheets were utilized to identify weaknesses in the SCBA maintenance system.
The results reveal that the SCBA maintenance process is not yet optimal, as indicated by the absence of a specific checklist and standardized inspection procedures for each SCBA component. Furthermore, the location of the clean air refill compressor, which is placed near the vehicle parking area, poses a risk of air contamination within the SCBA cylinders. Additionally, the number of available SCBA
units does not meet the minimum standards stipulated in Regulation PR 30 of 2022.
The proposed solutions in this study include the development of a standardized inspection logbook, procurement of SCBA units with uniform specifications, and the construction of a dedicated room for compressor placement.
