Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang alat bantu berupa Innovative Hose Washer Nozzle sebagai solusi pemeliharaan selang pemadam kebakaran di lingkungan Program Studi Pertolongan Kecelakaan Pesawat (PKP) Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah pencucian selang yang masih dilakukan secara manual, membutuhkan waktu dan tenaga yang besar, serta berpotensi menurunkan umur pakai selang. Melalui metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan pendekatan Borg & Gall yang disederhanakan menjadi enam tahapan, alat ini dirancang, divalidasi oleh ahli dan pengguna, serta diuji coba dalam lingkungan operasional. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Innovative Hose Washer Nozzle mampu meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pencucian, dengan hasil tingkat kebersihan sebesar 80%, waktu pencucian hanya 5 menit, serta pengurangan jumlah tenaga kerja yang dibutuhkan. Rerata skor kelayakan sebesar 77,5% menunjukkan bahwa alat ini layak digunakan. Inovasi ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan pemeliharaan peralatan keselamatan, kesiapan operasional, dan efisiensi kerja taruna dalam kegiatan pelatihan maupun operasional.

This study aims to design an auxiliary tool called the Innovative Hose Washer Nozzle as a solution for maintaining fire hoses within the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Study Program at the Indonesian Aviation Polytechnic Curug. The main problem addressed is the manual cleaning of fire hoses, which requires considerable time and effort and may reduce the hose’s lifespan. Using a Research and Development (R&D) method based on a simplified Borg & Gall model comprising six stages, the tool was designed, validated by experts and users, and tested in an operational setting. The test results show that the Innovative Hose Washer Nozzle significantly improves the effectiveness and efficiency of hose cleaning, achieving an 80% cleanliness level, reducing cleaning time to only 5 minutes, and requiring fewer personnel. With an average feasibility score of 77.5%, the tool is deemed suitable for use. This innovation contributes to the improvement of safety equipment maintenance, operational readiness, and work efficiency for cadets during both training and emergency operations.
