Abstract
Penggunaan Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) sebagai pengganti dokumen penerbangan berbasis kertas merupakan salah satu inovasi teknologi yang berdampak pada efisiensi operasional pilot di kokpit. Fase approach merupakan fase penerbangan dengan tuntutan kognitif tertinggi dan risiko keselamatan terbesar, sehingga sejauh mana pilot memanfaatkan EFB secara optimal pada fase ini memiliki implikasi langsung terhadap keselamatan penerbangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh persepsi usabilitas EFB terhadap tingkat pemanfaatan operasional EFB oleh pilot Lion Air pada fase approach menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif asosiatif kausal. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner online menggunakan Google Form dengan instrumen System Usability Scale (SUS) yang mengukur persepsi
usabilitas EFB melalui tiga dimensi yaitu efektivitas, efisiensi, dan kepuasan, serta
skala Likert untuk mengukur tingkat pemanfaatan operasional EFB yang meliputi
tiga faktor, yaitu intensitas penggunaan operasional, ketergantungan fungsional,
dan kepercayaan terhadap sistem, dengan sampel 66 pilot aktif Lion Air yang dipilih melalui accidental sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi usabilitas EFB berada
pada kategori Excellent (skor SUS rata-rata 81,97) dan tingkat pemanfaatan operasional EFB berada pada kategori tinggi, serta persepsi usabilitas EFB terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat pemanfaatan operasional EFB (Sig. = <0,001; R Square = 0,677). Hasil penelitian diharapkan menjadi masukan bagi maskapai dalam optimalisasi kualitas usabilitas sistem EFB di kokpit, khususnya pada fase approach.
The Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) represents a significant technological advancement in aviation, replacing traditional paper-based flight documents and serving as an essential cockpit tool aimed at improving pilot operational efficiency. The approach phase is recognized as the most cognitively demanding and safetycritical phase of flight, making the extent to which pilots optimally utilize the EFB
during this phase directly consequential to flight safety. This study examines the influence of perceived EFB usability on the operational utilization of EFB by Lion
Air pilots specifically during the approach phase through a quantitative associative causal approach. Data were collected via an online questionnaire using Google
Form with the System Usability Scale (SUS), which measures perceived EFB usability through three dimensions, namely effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction, and a Likert scale to measure the level of EFB operational utilization,
covering three factors, namely operational usage intensity, functional dependency, and trust in the system, with a sample of 66 active Lion Air pilots selected through
accidental sampling. Simple linear regression was applied to analyze the relationship between the two variables. The findings show that perceived EFB usability falls into the Excellent category (mean SUS score of 81.97) and the level
of EFB operational utilization falls into the high category, with perceived usability shown to have a significant influence on operational utilization (Sig. = <0.001; R Square = 0.677). The findings are expected to provide practical recommendations for airlines in optimizing the usability quality of the EFB system in the cockpit, particularly during the approach phase.
